Afghan bits

So after two failed attempts at making myself an afghan I think this time may just work!!!
This is the yarn that I got in great big balls at Wal-mart on clearance for 7.77 each.
A nice off white and denim blue.


I am just doing a basic granny square in different colours. These are my first 4 squares, they are about 5 inches square.



Then I decided to make some small blocks to put four together and make a different looking bigger block. Here is a small white one and then it on top of the blue one for size comparison.


I am very excited about this afghan!!! I just hope that I can get it done before the cold weather is gone.
I will keep you updated on my squares. They are pretty fast to make and I am sure I am getting fast by the square.
